PARENT'S MONTH 2021 Shout Out

November is celebrated as parent month in Jamaica and we are grateful for all the wonderful parents who have been moulding our future generation. To expand on this thank you, Education Magazine researched out to young people who would like to share a message with their parent or parents, to show their love and appreciation. See what they had to say below!

I love my mom because she is the one who takes care of me. Interestingly, her cooking skills are spectacular. She is sometimes angry when I don't do my work or homework. My mom gives me food to eat and clothes to wear and shelter too. My mom is no pushover. She always makes me laugh. Lastly, she buys me a lot of gifts and takes care of me very well. That’s why I love my mom.

As a child who requires constant medical attention, I've seen my mother save my life more times than any doctor could. When I was at my lowest to the point of just wanting to die it was my mother who kept me alive. When I was tired of having pointless doctor visits it was her who encouraged and motivated me to keep fighting. I love and appreciate her because I am all that I am because she believed in me. Mommy made me the strong warrior I am today. I Never saw her quit!

Parents are tourist guides that guide you through life". I appreciate my parents because they do not just teach me but have and are guiding me throughout my life journey. My mother personally tried her utmost best to ensure that I am willing and open-minded to opportunities and obstacles that life Journey brings. She teaches me to be grateful for the things I have and appreciate God's blessing. She is a fighter even though she may not have much she tries her best to make me happy and instil in me that happiness doesn't come in just gifts but togetherness and love. I appreciate my parents for all the things they have taught me, all the hardship they have been through and all that they have gone through throughout these eighteen years feeding, clothing, protecting, guiding me even though they don't have much thank you.

Tom Mann once said, a mother's love for a child is something that never ends and never dies... Mother's are always hard-working, caring and full of love and respect. Indeed today, I can say I have seen my mom as a very hardworking, loving and caring person toward me and my family, no matter if it is in the good or bad times. She has an essence of truthfulness, love and sincerity that I will continue to cherish. The way she cares for me and everyone in the family inspires me to do the same in the future.

I am strong because I was raised by a strong woman! I love and appreciate my mom for more reasons than I can explain. Every goal I’ve accomplished or hope to do for you as much as I want it for myself you’re my drive. I’ve seen this lady do (still doing) it when she’s tired, frustrated and broken to ensure ends are met. You challenge me to be a better person, to help people, to encourage and motivate people in the smallest way I can. I cannot express how grateful I am for having you in my life. I love you today, tomorrow, forever
